Integrative cancer care

Thoughtful options. Support throughout your care.

A cancer diagnosis brings decisions, questions, and changing needs. Integrative care offers a space to explore complementary options alongside your standard oncology treatment.

Start with your complete picture.

We consider your diagnosis, current and previous treatment, relevant pathology and imaging, medications, supplements, symptoms, and personal priorities. Clinically appropriate testing may help inform the discussion. Nonstandard tests are interpreted alongside established oncology assessment.

Testing options

  • Early detection & screening. Review of appropriate cancer screening, with discussion of additional early-detection blood tests where relevant. Emerging multi-cancer tests do not replace established screening; whether they reduce cancer deaths remains unproven.
  • Minimal / molecular residual disease (MRD) testing. Selected tests, including circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) assays, look for molecular signs of remaining or returning disease after treatment. Their role depends on the cancer type, treatment stage, and specific assay; a negative result does not rule out disease.
  • Chemosensitivity & resistance testing. Laboratory assays explore how sampled cancer cells respond to agents. They do not reliably establish which treatment will work for an individual and are not recommended for routine chemotherapy selection outside clinical trials.

Test selection and interpretation are coordinated with your oncology team, including how a result could change care. Screening information · NCI ↗ · Chemosensitivity guidance · ASCO ↗

Treatments & tools available.

Your care may include individualized clinical nutrition, carefully selected supplements, and discussion of adjunctive therapies and repurposed medications. Each option is considered in the context of your diagnosis, current treatment, available evidence, potential interactions, and goals.

  • IV therapies. Individualized discussion of infusion options, their purpose, and their compatibility with your oncology treatment. Explore IV therapy ↗
  • Mistletoe therapy. Assessment of whether an adjunctive mistletoe approach has a role in your care, with discussion of preparation, route, evidence, and monitoring.
  • Repurposed drugs. Review of medications being considered outside their original indication, including the rationale, available evidence, interactions, and monitoring.
  • Targeted botanicals & nutraceuticals. Carefully selected botanical and supplement options reviewed against your medications, treatment schedule, and clinical needs.
  • Clinical nutrition & therapeutic diets. Personalized nutrition planning that considers treatment, symptoms, appetite, weight, and nutritional adequacy.
  • Stress management & lifestyle optimization. Practical support for sleep, movement, coping, and daily routines through treatment and recovery.

Options discussed in this practice may include high-dose vitamin C, mistletoe, DCA, artesunate, curcumin, ozone, and alpha-lipoic acid, depending on the individual assessment and the proposed route of administration. These therapies have different evidence, risks, and clinical roles; some uses are investigational or off-label. Listing an option here does not establish that it treats cancer or is appropriate for a particular patient.

A consultation provides time to discuss the reasoning, alternatives, evidence, and limitations before deciding whether an option belongs in your care plan.

Support during treatment.

Care also includes assessment and management of symptoms and treatment side effects, including chemotherapy-related nausea and peripheral neuropathy. Recommendations are reviewed in the context of your oncology treatment and changing needs.

After treatment: recovery & health optimization.

Treatment ends. Your care continues. Finishing cancer treatment can bring relief, uncertainty, and a new set of health priorities.

This phase focuses on rebuilding your health: addressing lingering symptoms, reviewing nutritional needs, and developing practical strategies for activity, sleep, and everyday wellbeing. Supplements and additional testing are considered individually, alongside your ongoing oncology follow-up.

Surveillance for recurrence should be coordinated with your cancer care team. The role and limitations of any additional testing belong in that discussion.

Care alongside your oncology team.

Communication helps connect the different parts of your care. With your permission, relevant assessments and recommendations can be shared with your treating professionals.
